Part of the Digital Readiness Cluster in IMDA, the Digital Literacy & Wellness Division seeks to equip Singaporeans with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to navigate the digital space safely. As Assistant Director, you will spearhead the strategic direction, development, and amplification of public education efforts to equip Singaporeans with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to navigate the digital world safely. This role involves supervising a team to produce impactful public education content, forging partnerships, and driving innovative strategies to broaden outreach and engagement across diverse communities, so as to build a safe, inclusive and digitally resilient society.
[What you will be working on]
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight to the development of public education programs and resources addressing online safety, digital harms, and wellness.
- Lead a team to create engaging, accessible educational materials including toolkits, infographics, videos, and digital campaigns.
- As the nexus between Tech & Public Education, you are to oversee research and monitoring of emerging and zeitgeist digital competencies and issues, from digital literacy and skills citizens need for daily living to emerging digital harms such as child sexual abuse materials, misinformation, cyberbullying, and digital exploitation etc. Findings to be synthesised to inform content and public messaging.
- Devise and implement multi-channel public education strategies to maximize reach and impact, optimizing use of digital platforms and data analytics to measure engagement and refine initiatives.
- Cultivate and manage strategic partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, industry stakeholders, and community groups to enhance program effectiveness, impact and outreach.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in program design, leveraging best practices and emerging trends in digital literacy and online safety education.
- Represent IMDA in inter-agency working groups, speaking engagements related to digital inclusivity.
[What we are looking for]
Requirements
- Background in Communications, Public Policy, Education, Instructional Design, Adult Learning, or a related discipline
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Experience overseeing curriculum or content development, driving public education is a plus.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with proven ability to translate complex issues and policies into accessible, actionable public education.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams, managing cross-sector partnerships, and driving multi-channel communication campaigns.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adept at engaging diverse audiences and stakeholders.
- Experience leveraging data analytics to evaluate program effectiveness and inform decision-making.
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to thrive in a dynamic environment, balancing independent initiative with collaborative leadership.
