PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Assist in the preparation/review of financial statements and ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Directly oversee and support, the General Accounting and Treasury team functions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
  • Oversee and manage the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Review reconciliations, and other financial activities’ accuracy
  • Identify and implement process improvements within the finance department
  • Respond to inquiries from various financial managers and support special reporting requests
  • Implement relevant financial KPIs across finance departments
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and ensure model accuracy
  • Support of corporate taxation initiatives and compliance within the various legislative tax bodies
  • Lead internal and external audits, and client audits
  • Actively participate in automation and process improvement initiatives

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance
  • CPA certification is required
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years directly related experience, including five (5) years in leadership roles
  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industry is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and working knowledge of ERP software packages, SAGE system is preferred

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all organizational levels
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting practices and principles
  • Leadership experience in building and developing talent to deliver business objectives
  • Proactive with a focus on continuous improvement, including strong project management skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines while managing priorities
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
