The Team:

AQR Global Trading Strategies group is responsible for trading of all AQR investment strategies. The group manages global trading of all major asset classes and instruments, including equities, credit, bonds, FX, futures, options, and swaps. The trading philosophy of the group is rooted in building expertise in liquidity sourcing and market structure across asset classes, systematically reviewing the factors that affect transaction costs, understanding the investment strategies and building systematic processes, transaction cost analysis, trading models and automated trading algorithms to minimize slippage, increase capacity and enhance returns of AQR investment strategies.

 

Your Role:

AQR Capital Management is seeking an exceptionally talented individual to join our Global Trading Strategies team as an Asian Markets Trader. The trader will take on multiple responsibilities, including trading, trading strategy implementation, and execution optimization. Candidates should be ambitious, enthusiastic about implementing new ideas, and able to work both independently and collaboratively. In this role you will:

  • Execute trades in the Asian markets during local market hours. Gain proficiency across products including, but not limited to: Equities, Futures (all asset classes), FX, Rates, etc.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with counterparties to improve execution quality, monitor developments in market structure and liquidity, and drive relevant enhancements.
  • Collaborate with strategy research and portfolio management teams to identify information relevant to trading strategies and risk management.
  • Assist in the design, specification, and development of trading and liquidity analytics, O/EMS features, and critical trading tools.
  • Hours required will be 7:30pm EST to 3:30am EST therefore this a remote role. However, time spent as much as possible in the Greenwich office for connectivity/learning will be ideal.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Strong educational credentials – a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related quantitative field with a passion for markets
  • 3+ years of buy-side or sell-side trading experience; all asset class backgrounds considered, though a strong desire to learn and expand coverage is essential
  • Proficiency in Python required; superior Excel skills required
  • Familiarity with the nuances of international market structure and regulations
  • Experience in OTC and/or electronic markets
  • Experience handling large data sets and applied statistical analysis  - prior experience building data visualization tools or tableau dashboards a plus

The salary range for this role is expected to be $160,000 to $180,000.  This is the range that we in good faith believe is accurate for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, depending upon factors such as skills, experience, location, or other business and organizational needs.  This wage range may also be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
