Area Technical Manager – Concrete (Sizewell C)

We are seeking an Area Technical Manager (ATM) to join our team and play a key role in supporting the Sizewell C project.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage technical requirements across defined projects, ensuring compliance and quality.
  • Maintain efficient and effective technical control within your area of responsibility.
  • Ensure material costs are aligned with company targets.
  • Support customer needs through the development and maintenance of Heidelberg Materials’ market-leading material portfolio.
  • Engage with internal teams and external customers via digital platforms, plant site visits, and customer meetings.
  • The ATM is responsible for maintaining an efficient and effective level of technical control with in their area of responsibility, ensuring material costs are maintained within company targets and supporting customer needs through the development and maintenance of Heidelberg Material's market leading material portfolio.
  • Engage with existing internal personnel and external customers using multiple channels, including digital platforms, plant site visits and customer visits.

Key accountabilities

  • Achieve the highest possible standards in Health & Safety.
  • Support the Project Technical Strategy Plan.
  • Achieve company targets for quality assurance levels.
  • Maintain excellent technical knowledge of the industry, market, and competitor offerings.
  • Drive product and service quality excellence.
  • Drive product innovation and development.
  • Achieve Heidelberg Materials UK KPI expectations.
  • Work closely with all business lines supporting the implementation of national initiatives.
  • Using NDAC systems and reporting tools constantly monitor and maintain product and raw material performance.
  • Ensure all products maintain accordance with relevant European and British Standards, QSRMC regulations, IMS, Project QMS and the Heidelberg Materials Quality / Technical System Manuals.
  • React to issues in a manner that minimises risk and cost to the business.
  • Generate and submit required reporting to the Project timetable.
  • Investigate and assist in the resolution of customer quality complaints and non- conformities.
  • Provide technical training for new department employees and customers as directed.
  • Proactively identify areas of quality improvement and communicate to area management.

  • Experience in project management and technical support.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple channels
