GDIT Summer Internship Program – Summer 2026 Summer Enterprise IT Internship

How You’ll Make this Internship Opportunity Your Own 

Our Enterprise IT Internship is designed to make a direct impact on a broad variety of projects. You must be motivated to deliver innovative capabilities that directly impact some of GDIT’s most complex government, defense, and intelligence projects across the country.   

A Day in the Life  

  • Assist in researching, designing, developing, and/or modifying enterprise-wide or customer systems.  
  • Assist in performing systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.  
  • Assist in testing, diagnosing, and fixing incidents.  
  • Participates in large system and subsystem planning.  
  • Help ensure that applications and systems are compliant with established quality standards and meet customer and regulatory requirements. 
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.  
  • Participate in special projects as required.  
  • Supports the completion of technical tasks. 
  • Assists with the solutions to technical problems of limited scope.  
  • Assists with the coordination for new products, software, upgrades, and equipment.  
  • Assists with documentation for processes and procedures related to computer systems and operations.  

Must Haves 

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or similar discipline.  
  • Ability to actively collaborate with others. 
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office (Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint) 
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and positive attitude 
  • Ability to manage projects and prioritize competing requirements in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical terminology, concepts, and issues in terms understandable to both technical and non-technical resources.  
  • Ability to build meaningful relationships with manager and members of your team in a remote environment. 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities. 
  • Intuitiveness with an ability to identify and solve complex problems related to rapidly changing technology.    
  • A sense of genuine, intellectual curiosity and a nimble mindset   

What you Offer as a Stand-Out Candidate  

  • Familiarity with IT systems and demonstrated proficiency in various programming languages.  
  • Understanding of software development best practices  
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.   

GDIT interns are paid and full-time (40 hours/week) for 10 consecutive weeks. Applicants should have a minimum of one semester remaining in their studies after their internship concludes. Take the first step and apply today!

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $22.95 - $31.05. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
