What is the opportunity?

Wealth Management Data & AI is responsible for delivering a global data foundation and innovative AI capabilities across all of Wealth Management’s global businesses.

Complementing our existing Data & AI roadmap, we’re building an applied AI lab, with a mandate to explore breakthrough AI methods and turn them into testable prototypes and capabilities to support our 6,000 wealth management professionals globally.

We are looking to hire an awesome Applied AI Scientist to help us apply novel AI technologies to wealth advisory. You’ll use your AI and ML skills, and research background, to explore and build prototypes that will elevate the client experience and advisor productivity—reshaping the competitive landscape of wealth advisory services globally.

What will you do?

  • Develop novel AI solutions that will power impactful products for wealth management advisors and their clients

  • Lead projects on applying machine learning techniques to focused, practical wealth management applications

  • Conceptualize future wealth management business needs into testable algorithmic solutions to drive the next generation of advisor experiences

  • Stay current with emerging AI technologies, including LLMs, generative and agentic AI, as well as new AI methodologies, and incorporate them into the lab’s toolbox

  • Contribute to a growing culture of innovation by experimenting boldly with high-risk, high-reward approaches while maintaining an advisor-in-the-loop focus

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have:

  • Passion for solving open problems in real-world contexts using data and mathematical techniques, and learning and sharing about new approaches and developments in AI

  • Master’s degree (or similar) in computer science, statistics, AI/machine learning, quantitative psychology, or another quantitative field

  • 4–8 years of experience in AI/ML/data science, including a combination of graduate training, academia, public sector, and/or industry experience

  • Proven ability to independently drive the AI/ML innovation process, including problem abstraction, solution design, integration of mixed data sources, data understanding, model training, model evaluation, and model validation

  • Proficiency in Python, and common packages/tools such as NumPy, JAX, PyTorch, TensorFlow, GitHub, Streamlit

  • Experience building proofs-of-concept and prototypes to demonstrate novel concepts in practical application contexts

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

Nice to Have

  • Collaborative innovation experience in cross-functional teams

  • Knowledge of financial services or wealth management

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Snowflake) and MLOps

  • Experience with deep learning LLMs, GenAI, Agentic AI

  • Academic publications demonstrating contributions in AI/ML topics
