The Sony Europe Technology Development Centre (EUTDC) is one of the Design Centres of Sony Semiconductor in Europe. Its mission is the development of innovative imaging and sensing solid-state devices from initial idea to technology proof-of-concept demonstrators, contributing to next-generation Sony Semiconductor Solutions' successful products for the mobile market.
As an Intern, you will be part of our dedicated Digital Design team to develop a RISC-V-based system with application-specific instructions and hardware accelerators. The goal of this work is to design a processing system fully based on the standard RISC-V command set, with the addition of dedicated extensions for image sensor applications.
You will:
You will commence from the freely accessible open source code, build a basic environment to test the hardware and its firmware, and lastly identify, develop and integrate one or more custom HW accelerators according to the processing requirements of the application, and to integrate them in the RISC-V system through custom commands.
You will be guided and mentored by Digital Design team members, and will be able to learn on the job all the basics of digital design, RTL coding, digital verification and implementation, while at the same time developing a deep knowledge of the RISC-V architecture.
