Position Purpose

Under the direction of the nurse manager with moderate supervision, the anesthesia tech will maintain and stock supplies in the anesthesia carts and machines, as well as ensure supplies are not outdated nor depleted at all times. 

What you will do

  • Will ensure the anesthesia machines and equipment are sanitized and equipment components functions.
  • The colleague originates and processes orders to the Store Room, Purchasing and Pharmacy for supplies and drugs.
  • He/she maintains supply inventory for daily use in the three department work rooms. The colleague will clean and sterilize equipment, clean and stock specific anesthesia carts and clean work rooms and store rooms.
  • He/she will process equipment for repair and follow up on the status of the equipment repair, and report missing equipment to supervisor.
  • Partial access to medications is given to the incumbent of this position because they are required by their job responsibilities to transport or stock medications to approved medication storage locations .
  • Position may require working at either campus or alternate site.  

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: High school graduate. Successful completion of department orientation and complete modules on scope reprocessing.
  • Experience:   Must be able to read and communicate effectively. Possess basic computer skills.   
  • Certification: Must maintain clinical competency required for area of assignment, including yearly scope cleaning competency.
