Position Overview:

Responsible for the set up and calibration of anesthesia equipment and supplies needed for each operation or procedure. Supports the functionality of the department by distributing supplies and performing equipment maintenance, testing, and setup as needed. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety to help deliver optimal patient care.

• HS Diploma

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

• BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

• 3 -year experience as a surgical technician.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Test anesthesia machines, prepare anesthesia cases. Assisting monitoring patients, masking, hand off intubation tube. Assisting IVs, Arterial line, CV neckline hand off sterile technique. Transport patients from operating room, assist w/ ET, Arterial line, Zeroing, draw back Arterial line getting blood sample for perfusionist. Prep neck CVP, hand off instruments from CVP kit in sterile technique. Hand off Swan Ganz, connect art. CVP, pa, connect CCO, shoot cardiac output. Assist w/ TEE probe, enter patients' information into TEE machine. Assist monitoring patients, Arterial line, IV lines, intubation, positioning thoracic hand off double lumen tube, set up emergency C-section cases: set up rapid infusers/Belmont, Level 1, fluid warmer. Emergency Setup. Intubation assist, IV-line assist. Cell saver and skilled in cell saver operations.
