Job Purpose:
This position is responsible for providing regulatory support and guidance specifically on client tax information reporting and withholding for various business partners and their affiliates.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services.
  • Solve complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions and approaches changes with flexibility.
  • Work independently, receives minimal guidance.
  • Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience
  • Development and maintenance of key processes including tax information reporting, federal and state withholding/deposits and related returns and reconciliations
  • Addresses internal customer inquiries and assists with research and analysis of product tax related matters.
  • Provide and support business partners in related areas of transactional research, forms review, tax reporting issues, unclaimed property and claims.
  • Supports various aspects of compliance testing, procedural documentation and guidance.
  • Cross functional support for corporate company tax functions as required. Support areas will include sales and use tax reporting, premium tax, and federal and state income tax returns and estimated payments.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree with a concentration in related area or Associate’s degree
  • Minimum of six (6) years of tax reporting or accounting experience.
  • General understanding of life and property casualty insurance industries
  • Tax reporting concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Intermediate understanding of Chapters 3, 4, 61 regulations for withholding, securities, State and IRS filing requirements for Forms 1099, 5498, 945, 1042, 1042S.
  • Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications to produce correspondence, electronic communication and maintain spreadsheets and databases.
  • Prior project management experience
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with all organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to read and understand complex IRS regulations and accounts, as well as identify, analyze and resolve tax risks.
  • Demonstrated efficiency and flexibility in performing detailed transactional tasks in a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions, changing priorities, and deadlines. (Years of Experience).
  • Tax Information reporting certifications within 1 year of hire
  • FLMI and/or CPCU designation preferred

Compensation may vary based on the job level, your geographic work location, position incentive plan and exemption status.

 

Base Salary Range:

$89,700.00 - $134,500.00
