Job Description
Summary
The Commercial Strategy and Insights (CS&I) team principally supports our clients in four main capability areas:
Commercial Effectiveness Consulting
Profiling, Segmentation and Targeting
Longitudinal Patient and Prescription Tracking
Primary Market Research (Tracking studies and Ad Hoc)
Analysts within CS&I play a key role in delivering excellent analytical and advisory projects with our clients. They are responsible for owning and delivering work independently, taking accountability to ensure deliverables are of the highest quality, and that deadlines are met. Depending on the nature of the project, this may involve taking a lead for a given analysis or contributing as part of a large team within a wider program.
Analysts can work across multiple client projects at a time, playing an integral role in the successful delivery of consulting and market research studies by undertaking various projects aspects, such as desk research, data analysis, questionnaire design and preparation of final project materials. Depending on the project scope and complexity,
Working closely with colleagues and clients on each project, Analysts help implement the most appropriate approach to address project objectives and client business issues, within the boundaries of required deadlines and quality standards.
Analysts provide high quality, on-time input to client projects in the life sciences field. Project outputs range in complexity from basic analysis and problem solving to assisting in the development of more complex solutions.
Key accountabilities include:
Working closely with our clients on a daily basis to understand challenges, requirements, and business issues
Performing quantitative and qualitative analyses to aid the development of recommendations; exercise informed business judgment in identifying the correct approach to client issues
Day-to-day project management to ensure project milestones are met and clients receive regular project status updates
Contributing to the preparation, execution and follow up of client meetings and workshops
Conducting independent desk research and primary research to specific briefs using internal and external sources
Design and creation of market research draft questionnaires and/or discussion guides
Co-ordination of market research studies by working closely with other IQVIA teams and/or partner organizations
Review report populated by off-shore teams, and provide a first read and analysis of findings to determine trends and key project findings
Draft report templates and define data tabulations requires to support report development under supervision of a project lead
Taking responsibility for creating sections of reports, presentations and other client deliverables (with guidance and supervision)
Development of, and potential to present, final study reports in PowerPoint and/or support of interactive dashboard design and co-ordination (where required) with project lead guidance
Quality control of Excel and PowerPoint deliverables to prepare for client delivery
Acquiring deep knowledge of IQVIA’s data sources and how these can be applied to address our client’s commercial challenges
Broadening knowledge of consulting and primary market research methodologies, as well as the health and life sciences industries, through the delivery of consulting and market research engagements and participation in formal and informal learning opportunities
Requirements
Master’s/Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent); preferably in physical, natural or biological science, medicine, mathematics, economics or business
Some experience of working in a professional client facing environment, ideally within a consulting or life sciences environment
Demonstrated interest in health and life sciences industry sector, and willingness to build deep industry skill
Strong analytical skills and a strong attention to detail
Good team player with strong interpersonal skills for influencing and advising
Able to explain complex concepts and frameworks and place these in appropriate client situations and context
Fluency in English (spoken and written) to a strong business standard
Able to work collaboratively and flexibly to support the execution of projects within a team environment and meeting all internal and external deadlines
Works willingly and effectively with others in and across the organization to accomplish team goals
Motivated and able to demonstrate initiative
Interest in consulting, healthcare in general, and the pharmaceutical industry
IT literate i.e. MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel
Eligibility to work in the UK/EU without sponsorship
Effective time management skills
Good written and spoken communication skills
