Job Description
Brookfield is seeking a Sustainability Analyst to join our Sustainability Management team within the Real Estate business. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on strategic initiatives that drive sustainability performance across Brookfield’s global real estate portfolio. The successful candidate will support investor relations and fundraising activities, strategic initiatives, sustainability reporting and data analysis, cross-functional collaboration and research, and other activities as needed. The position will contribute to the continued advancement of Brookfield Real Estate’s environmental and social sustainability objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Investor Relations & Fundraising Activities
Support the Sustainability Management team in client interactions such as preparing presentations, pre-meeting research and communicating with client-facing teams.
Assist in monitoring and responding to sustainability-related investor requests, due diligence questionnaires, portfolio management updates, and other client inquiries.
Strategic Initiatives
Assist in the advancement and integration of Brookfield Real Estate’s sustainability strategy across the global portfolio.
Support Brookfield Real Estate’s head of sustainability management with fundraising engagements, stakeholder engagements, portfolio management relationship building, other analysis, etc., as required.
Sustainability Reporting & Communications
Support the development of Brookfield’s annual Sustainability Report and related disclosures by collecting, reviewing, and synthesizing data and narratives across the business.
Contribute to the preparation of investor and client materials that articulate Brookfield’s sustainability strategy, performance, and achievements.
Data Management & Analysis
Conduct sustainability due diligence for prospective real estate equity and credit investments.
Assist with submissions to the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark and Principles for Responsible Investment indices for Brookfield’s funds and entities.
Aggregate, validate, and analyze sustainability metrics such as energy, greenhouse gas emissions, water, waste, building certifications, and other metrics across Brookfield’s real estate portfolio.
Evaluate and track the decarbonization performance of Brookfield’s portfolio companies.
Coordinate with sustainability management, finance and portfolio management teams to integrate financial and operational data into sustainability reporting.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Research
Liaise with global business units and sustainability leads to support ongoing initiatives and knowledge sharing across regions.
Conduct research and benchmarking on sustainability topics, frameworks, and peer practices to inform program development and strategy.
Support internal education efforts by contributing to the development of training materials and guidance documents.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
1–3 years of relevant experience in sustainability, corporate reporting, consulting, or investment management. Experience in real estate, financial services, or professional services is an asset.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) is an advantage.
Superior interpersonal skills and communication skills (oral and written). Able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels, both internally and externally.
Strong quantitative skills, with the ability to calculate and interpret sustainability data, identify trends, and translate findings into clear insights for reporting and decision-making.
Strong ability to work independently. Organized and able to prioritize, share information efficiently, meet deadlines and deliver in a multi-project, fast-paced environment with changing priorities and multiple parallel assignments.
Disciplined, detail-oriented team player with a predisposition to learn and foster relationships. Maintains professionalism working in a highly fast-paced corporate environment.
