Airbus UpNext Internship 2026 - Superconducting powertrain control development (m/f)

Toulouse Area Full time

Job Description:

Are you passionate about aeronautics, sciences, and new technologies? Do you thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy collaborating with diverse teams?

CRYOPROP demo is looking for a superconducting powertrain control intern. This internship will ideally begin in March 2026 (date subject to flexibility), and will last for a period of 4  to 6  months.

The internship will be a rewarding experience if you are passionate about aeronautics, sciences and new technologies. You will be part of an ambitious and flexible project execution with a diverse technical team, with partners from worldwide industry and academia, start-ups in a dynamic and emulating environment.

Your Missions

As a superconducting powertrain control intern, your main mission will be to design, develop and test a real-time control and monitoring platform for a superconducting superconducting powertrain. The scope of the work will include the model-based development of the algorithm and its validation by simulation with a software-in-the-loop approach. Once the control principle is validated, the software will be deployed on a real-time target for a pre-verification with a hardware-in-the-loop approach. The last step is the lab test verification of the device on superconducting samples in a cryogenic environment.

In parallel with these activities, you will support sensor development, calibration and integration for monitoring and protection.

Learning goals and tasks:

  • Implementation of a model-based (Simulink) software for powertrain control and monitoring.

  • Validation of the model by simulation.

  • Deployment of the protection software on a real-time target.

  • Validation of results with an experimental setup in a cryogenic lab.

  • Investigation in sensor integration and calibration
