Job Description:
The Airbus UpNext Optimate demonstrator will pave the way to smart automation capabilities by integration of new innovative bricks including computer vision and data fusion. The goal is to help the pilots and facilitate the mission.
The Airbus UpNext Optimate demonstrator team is looking for a test mean technical engineer to take care of the Optimate truck platform in its daily & tests operations, its physical & softs evolutions and for maintenance purpose
The Experimental Vehicle Platform Leader position is within Airbus UpNext, in Toulouse (Saint Martin), starting ASAP, and it consists of a fixed-term contract (CDIC-C) linked to the delivrable of the demonstrator - end of September 2026.
Mission
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
Daily Operations management
Charge, prepare, start and stop the platform including basic maintenance actions (fluid levels, tyre condition check, etc.)
Keep track of the hardware and software versions
Perform software loading on a daily basis
Lead the hardware integration and the management of the platform assets inventory
Test operations support:
Support tests planning
Be platform tests driver
Participate in the tests briefings, including review of the tests orders
Manage the Truck platform roadbook in recording the tests follow-up
Manage the maintenance & working party of the platform
Ensure the regular maintenance and assistance with the platform manufacturer, including update maintenance platform book
Lead the mechanical installations, acting as focal point for the engineering suppliers, supporting the definition of the mechanical changes,assembling mechanical structures (aluminum structure, adaptor plates, etc.), defining any new physical installation
Contribute to the electrical working parties, acting as focal point for the engineering suppliers, supporting the definition of the electrical changes, validate the suppliers design and support the electrical installation
Support the network wiring in its definition, design and installation
Act as the focal point with transportation companies in case of working parties works, tests, events
Organization part
Support the planning of the platform availability versus the request of integration and exposure tests, including demonstrators visits
Ensure with flight test engineers that the test mean platform checklist is up to date, and inform the team
Ensure that the escort vehicle checklist is up to date and communicate it to the team

What you bring:
Technical skills
C1 driving licence is a very good asset
Technicians with Fabrication/Fitting and electrical experience: vehicle servicing and maintenance, riveting, bolting, cutting, shaping, bending, fabricating predominantly from aluminum, low voltage qualification,reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical schematic drawings.
Good knowledge of Airbus Test Environment (Integration simulator) is very good asset
Autonomous and creative with a lot of common and practical sense

The responsibilities and the technical scope of the job might evolve according to the agile working environment of the project, so being flexible is important.
You will work very closely cross-functionally with the Airbus Teams, as well as external stakeholders. You have great collaborative skills, with a good understanding of interface management and practical problem solving.
