AI Governance Technical SME

We are looking for an AI Governance Technical SME to join our DX Solutions business in a highly visible and accountable role, where you will evaluate, monitor, and strengthen the organization’s AI Governance Framework by conducting technical assessments and create next generation AI Governance technical framework of AI and machine learning tools and use cases.

You should be someone who has experience analysing models for compliance, fairness, transparency, and security to ensure responsible and trustworthy AI deployment. Critical to your role will be communication skills - specifically being able to translate complex technical findings into actionable insights, risk mitigation recommendations, and align AI systems with ethical, regulatory, and organizational standards.

With the boom in AI functionality in enterprise tools, we want to enhance our DX Team’s capability to continue driving positive direction and decision making in Europe. You will join a small and friendly team, where your will have exposure to a wide range of Sony businesses, and where your input will have a measurable and lasting impact for internal departments and users alike.

You will:

  • Assess AI/ML tools and models for compliance with internal AI governance, ethical, and risk management policies.
  • Conduct technical reviews of algorithms, data pipelines, and model performance to evaluate transparency, robustness, and fairness.
  •  Document assessment findings and provide risk ratings, remediation recommendations, and improvement plans.
  • Collaborate with data science, compliance, and AI Governance Committee to establish consistent standards for AI model validation and lifecycle management.
  • Monitor emerging AI regulations and standards (e.g., EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001) and integrate them into technical assessment processes.
  • Support governance reporting by maintaining dashboards, metrics, and technical documentation for oversight committees or audit reviews.
  • Advise on the implementation of model explainability and interpretability solutions

You will bring:

Essential:

  • Hands-on experience with AI/ML model development and evaluation.
  • Familiarity with AI model risk management and validation techniques, including bias testing, explainability (e.g., SHAP, LIME), and model drift analysis.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis to identify distribution skewness, detect data drift between training and testing datasets, and assess data quality issues including outliers, missing values, and bias patterns.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills with the ability to translate technical findings into risk insights.

Helpful:

  • Degree qualified in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Knowledge of AI governance frameworks (e.g., NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act,ISO etc).
  • Experience with MLOps and model lifecycle management platforms, or conducting algorithm assessments
  • Understanding of privacy-preserving AI techniques (e.g., differential privacy, federated learning).
  • Certification or coursework in AI ethics, responsible AI, or risk management.
