About the Role

As an AI Engineer at Shipwell, you will be at the forefront of building production-ready AI agents that transform how logistics operations work. You'll design, develop, and deploy agentic workflows that act as autonomous digital workers—systems that don't just analyze data, but actively execute tasks, make decisions, and interact with users to solve real supply chain challenges. Working with modern frameworks like LangChain and LangGraph, you'll architect intelligent systems that handle everything from shipment tracking to settlement processing. This role goes beyond prototyping—you'll own the full lifecycle of AI agents in production, ensuring reliability, scalability, and data integrity across AWS infrastructure. You'll collaborate with product, engineering, and data science teams to pioneer the next generation of AI-powered logistics solutions, where AI acts as a trusted co-worker rather than just a tool.

What we’re looking for:

Must haves:

  • Experience developing and deploying agentic workflows or AI agents to production environments (not just prototypes).
  • Experience working with frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or equivalent agent development kits (ADKs) (e.g., Google ADK, LlamaIndex).
  • Expertise in Python development.
  • Understanding of ML pipelines and data workflows, ideally within AWS environments.
  • Comfort with debugging production issues related to data integrity, API reliability, and scalability.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a distributed engineering team.
  • Fluent English communication skills.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience leading or mentoring junior engineers.
  • Familiarity with DBT, SQL, and ML tools (maintenance-level knowledge sufficient).
  • Prior exposure to DevOps processes (containerization, deployments)
  • Interest or experience in agent-based product design (AI as co-worker concept).
  • Understanding of product-oriented AI development — building systems that directly interact with end users.

What you’ll do when you get here:

  • Collaborate closely with our product, engineering, analytics, data science, and product teams as we create new and enhance existing AI agents and capabilities
