Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration offers an excellent opportunity for a Sr Principal Agile Product Owner – Planner Product Owner (25-545) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. Located in Colorado Springs, CO, this role is crucial in supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.
This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a vital part of the Missile Defense System. It provides an essential operational platform that allows the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and tactical levels to systematically plan missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2BMC offers a layered missile defense capability, delivering an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It acts as a force multiplier by connecting, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations both worldwide and locally to improve overall performance. Additionally, C2BMC is a key component of all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the missile defense system's current and future capabilities.
Candidate will serve as the Product Team Product Owner for the C2BMC Planner Product Team. The candidate will be responsible for driving value delivery for the Planner application, part of a complex missile defense command-and-control system.
Essential Functions:
Development of Mission or Defense Planning applications
Experience with containerized software development and integration
Experience collaborating with third-party providers and coordinating with external teams
Experience in maintaining and developing cross-program roadmaps with dependency tracking
Experience in business development
Experience working directly with the warfighter to identify emerging needs
Basic Qualifications:
Please list your current security clearance and IAT or relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university is preferred, along with 8 years of experience; or a Master’s degree in a related field with 6 years of relevant work experience; or 12 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
Willing to travel up to 10% for business purposes
Proven leadership experience in full life cycle development of large, integrated DoD systems, including requirements development and interpretation, design, implementation, testing, fielding, and maintenance
Will have demonstrated experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner
Will have demonstrated experience in identifying customer needs and managing customer priorities
Experience and knowledge of Earned Value Management in a software development setting
Knowledge of common software development and management tools such as:
Maven
Git/GitLab
Nexus
Eclipse
Experience with Agile development methodologies
Understanding key system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases, Requirements, and SysML diagrams

Primary Level Salary Range: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
