Job Highlights:

The ideal candidate will be familiar with resources in the area (Fond du Lac), organized (tracking and entering data), have great customer service and communication skills (bilingual is a plus).

The hours are Monday - Friday typically 8-4p with some flexibility.

Job Summary:

Responsible for assisting the uninsured with signing up for health insurance and eligible subsidies.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for performing outreach and education as well as providing assistance to individuals.
  • Conducts community health insurance options education.
  • Explains eligibility, benefits, cost-sharing, and appeals processes to individuals.
  • Assesses individual needs, identifies appropriate resources, provides all necessary information to the individual, and makes contacts with other agencies on behalf of the individual if necessary.
  • Provides information to individuals and families in a way that can be understood, in a culturally sensitive manner, for those with low-proficiency English, and people with disabilities who have special communication needs.
  • Works with a diverse set of organizations and entities in order to effectively serve the large number of people who will be eligible for insurance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION

  • High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience


EXPERIENCE

  • Two years' experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Rare climbing.
