SUMMARY

The IT Administrator Sr.-Systems plays a crucial role within the Web & Enterprise Applications department, overseeing the implementation, design, configuration, and support of both internal and external websites, as well as collaboration tools. This position collaborates closely with project managers and business analysts to gather requirements, analyze data, and perform systems analysis and design. Key responsibilities include supporting system development, testing, and deployment; architecting application solutions; leading Power Platform governance efforts; and developing Power Apps integrated with Dataverse and PowerBI. The role also provides ongoing support to citizen developers.

Success in this position requires strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities to effectively drive organizational initiatives and fulfill business goals. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing the architecture, administration, and integration of solutions utilizing SQL-based Data Lake platforms, Microsoft SharePoint Online (SPO), and Power Platform technologies (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse). A deep understanding of technical systems, governance frameworks, and collaboration across both business and IT teams is essential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions with Business Analysts and functional users to gather and comprehensively document functional requirements.
  • Oversee governance and development standards related to the company’s Power Platform and SharePoint environments.
  • Conduct analysis and design activities for application delivery.
  • Identify data requirements and develop data models for applications.
  • Support quality assurance efforts through the creation and execution of test and deployment plans.
  • Contribute to the creation of technical documentation for applications.
  • Design and configure automated business process workflows as needed.
  • Participate in system signoff processes and fulfill all related change management requirements.
  • Independently research and resolve help desk issues concerning core applications, collaborating with other Business Analysts when necessary.
  • Develop and deliver training programs.
  • Modify and enhance applications in accordance with established methodologies.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and strengthen client relationships.
  • Collaborate with our European counterparts to ensure systems adhere to PII and Works Council guidelines.
  • Provide ongoing quality assurance support before and after implementation.

Data Lake / SQL Support

  • Architect, implement, and optimize SQL-based Data Lake solutions with the content.
  • Develop and maintain complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and ingestion pipelines.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data availability, security, and quality
  • Support schema design, metadata strategies, and data modeling initiatives.

Power Platform (Power Apps & Power Automate)

  • Design and manage both model-driven and canvas Power Apps.
  • Build scalable automations leveraging Power Automate.
  • Administer Power Platform environments, including roles and DLP policies.
  • Aid ‘Citizen’ developers by reviewing their designs and development approach including training.

SharePoint Online (Admin / Architect Level)

  • Design SharePoint Online architecture, including hub sites, metadata structures, and permissions.
  • Modernize legacy SharePoint implementations to SharePoint Online.
  • Maintain custom solutions utilizing SPFx, PowerShell, and PnP.
  • Oversee tenant configurations, compliance, and lifecycle management.

Strategy & Governance

  • Define and enforce governance policies across the Microsoft 365 stack.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for transformation projects involving Microsoft tools.
  • Ensure solution alignment with security, compliance, and scalability requirements.
  • Collaborate with Security, Compliance, and Business stakeholders to achieve organizational objectives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 8 to 15 years of professional experience in enterprise IT, specializing in SQL, SharePoint, and Power Platform.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in an IT-related discipline is required; advanced or additional relevant education is preferred.
  • Extensive expertise in SQL Server, Data Lake (including Azure Synapse, Data Factory, etc.), and advanced T-SQL optimization.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SharePoint Online administration, PnP PowerShell, and solution architecture.
  • Advanced skills in developing and deploying with Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse within enterprise environments.
  • Proven ability to design comprehensive integrated business solutions utilizing the Microsoft ecosystem.
  • Experience managing enterprise-scale environments, including multi-geo tenants and compliance-focused architectures.
  • Strong communication abilities, stakeholder engagement experience, and exceptional documentation skills.
  • Previous experience in business analysis, quality assurance, and application development or implementation is highly desirable.
  • Preferred familiarity with technologies such as Windows Active Directory, Drupal, HTML5, .NET, and content management systems for websites.
  • Solid understanding of business processes and automated workflows.
  • Comfort working with technical concepts such as website navigation, application and website security, web browsers, and databases.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience interpreting and the development technical documentation.
  • Experience with Layer2 and Nintex solutions
  • Experience with migration tools such as AvePoint FLY

Preferred Certifications

- Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer or Solutions Architect
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams or SharePoint Administrator Associate
- ITIL, PMP, or TOGAF (optional but beneficial)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office.  Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.  May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.  Travel up to 10% including air travel or auto travel.
