As a member of the College of Education and Human Ecology Office of Undergraduate Education (EHE-OUE), manages front desk office operations, supervises student workers, coordinates unit communication plans, and provides administrative supports to the wider unit. Responsible for the oversight and staffing of front desk coverage; provides front desk coverage when student coverage is not available. Responsible for promoting, hiring, onboarding, and training student workers throughout the year. Manages the organizational email account; provides generalized information and resources to students and other stakeholders; forwards necessary concerns to the proper channel. Provides exemplary customer service and works to make the office a welcoming environment. Works closely with the EHE-OUE unit to research, develop and implement a variety of communications tactics including newsletters, additional email blasts, content creation and account management for social media platforms. Develop and implement communication campaigns for various programs and events, coordinate and execute mass e-mail by creating timelines and meeting deadlines to ensure uniformity of content and messaging. Coordinate and execute social media campaigns and ensure alignment with overall EHE messaging. Responsible for updating and maintaining all sections of the EHE-OUE website. Provides various administrative supports to the Advising and Student Success team (student major/minor declarations, advisor change processing, etc.). Collaborates with team members on projects, initiatives, and targeted outreach to students. Assists with major team functions, like orientation and commencement activities.

50% - Manages the EHE-OUE front desk operations. Often serves as first point of contact for the EHE-OUE office, including Academic Advising and Career Services appointments; creates a welcoming environment for students in coordination with the office’s larger focus on student experience. Responsible for the oversight and staffing of front desk coverage; provides front desk coverage when student coverage is not available. Responsible for promoting, hiring, onboarding, and training student workers throughout the year. Manages the organizational email account; provides generalized information and resources to students and other stakeholders; forwards necessary concerns to the proper channel. Assists with academic advising Express Advising sessions. Schedules student academic advising appointments for orientation programs and throughout the year.

25% - Works closely with the EHE-OUE unit to research, develop and implement a variety of communications tactics including newsletters, additional email blasts, content creation and account management for social media platforms; writes interest stories and features accomplishments of staff and undergraduate students. Work with EHE-OUE teams to identify best outreach practices to undergraduate students. Assesses engagement (open rates, etc.) to provide data toward EHE-OUE’s retention, enrollment, and student engagement goals. Develop and implement communication campaigns for various programs and events, coordinate and execute mass e-mail by creating timelines and meeting deadlines to ensure uniformity of content and messaging. Coordinate and execute social media campaigns and ensure alignment with overall EHE-OUE messaging. Responsible for updating and maintaining all sections of the EHE-OUE website, working toward better student user experience. Collaborate with the college’s Marketing and Communications team to highlight the work and expertise of the EHE-OUE unit. Scheduling multimedia needs for the unit (making requests for photography, videography, and audio recording appointments with those featured at campus studio spaces). Manage content on the office’s digital signage.

15% - As a member of the Advising and Student Success team within the unit, provides various administrative supports (student major/minor declarations, advisor change processing, etc.). Collaborates with team members on projects, initiatives, and targeted outreach to students. Assists with major team functions, like orientation and commencement activities.

10% - Collaborates with the larger unit on a range of team-based initiatives, including committee work, retention, events, and other duties as assigned. Occasional evening/weekend hours as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be required.
  • Associate degree in relevant field may be preferred. 2 years of relevant experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

4-6 years of relevant experience preferred.
