Accounts Receivable Officer

Reporting directly to the Accounts Receivable Manager, the Accounts Receivable Officer will be responsible for the provision of Accounts Receivable tasks, including consistent adherence to collections policy, for some business entities and administration of journals. You will have national oversight of Accounts Receivable activity within the Shared Service function and associated reporting. You will also champion change by continuously engaging in process optimisation to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

This is a permanent full time position based in our Brisbane Group Office on a hybrid working arrangement.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Conduct end-to-end accounts receivable processing support for the Shared Services Team and all group entities, including invoicing, payments receipting, customer master data maintenance, and collections
  • Complete reporting activities relating to Accounts Receivable activity and establish effective reporting on end of month (EOM), periodic billings, and other ad hoc reporting
  • Proactively follow the Collections policy to recover outstanding monies, including reporting on status
  • Attend to queries from internal & external customers, maintaining the shared inbox, with all emails responded to in a timely manner
  • Occasional administrative duties at the Brisbane Group Office (BGO)

Things that work for us:

  • Demonstrated experience in a Billing and Collections role or similar, ideally for a large and complex organisation dealing with multiple entities
  • Proven ability to enhance financial processes on a continuing basis
  • Demonstrated capability in MS Excel and PowerPoint (Intermediate level), including the ability to analyse data and generate reports for management
  • Great problem solving skills to tackle challenges and draw logical conclusions from data
  • The ability to communicate effectively with peers and leaders, both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to work unsupervised and use initiative, while also excelling as a part of a team
