We have an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented Accounts Officer to join our Finance team. The primary focus of this position is to ensure accurate and efficient daily processing of funds, reconciliation and reporting of MMS client salary packaging accounts and investigation of outstanding items in a timely and accurate manner. Furthermore, this role requires high levels of customer satisfaction for both internal and external customers.

As an Accounts Officer, you will play a key role in managing financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data. You’ll collaborate with teams to assist and support Finance Manager, team leader and other team members. Assist in the identification, recommendation and implementation of continuous business improvement opportunities and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconciliation of employer accounts to employee balances and investigate differences.

  • Ensure accurate and timely drawdown of required funds so the payments are made on time. If need be, contact the bank to ensure all payment files are processed on the day.

  • Monthly reconciliations and interest, where applicable, to be sent to employers in a timely manner.

  • Investigate overdrawn employer bank accounts.

  • Process stale cheques as needed.

  • Employer terminations processed within requested time frames.

  • Timely action of various reconciliation administration activities

  • Timeliness in response to incoming calls and emails and workflow requests (response within 24 hours).

  • Work co-operatively and positively within the Finance team.

  • Assist and support Finance Manager, team leader and other team members with any adhoc work as needed.

  • Complete all tasks within agreed timeframes and in line with MMSG’s compliance obligations.

  • Prepare and maintain the process documents for all relevant tasks.

  • Assist in the identification, recommendation and implementation of continuous business improvement opportunities and initiatives

What We’re Looking For:

  • Professional, clear and articulate communication with internal and external stakeholders

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with demonstrated experience in banking reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, ideally within a financial services environment 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and maintain relationships

  • Ability to interpret numerical data and complex information to complete required tasks

  • Proven ability in problem solving and proactive questioning to confirm understanding

  • Excellent time management skills in particular the ability to effectively manage a pipeline of activity.

  • The desire to work in a team environment towards common goals, contribute to the team and communicate in an appropriate manner

  • Intermediate knowledge in Excel, Word, Outlook and MS-Teams
