Summary

This job is responsible for managing the precision manufacturing for Novanta in Japan. Key responsibility is to identify new business, close opportunities and service existing accounts.

  

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute and manage sales to OEM customers in designated region to achieve sales goals for industrial and medical lasers and laser integrated system.
  • Develop new OEM customers and markets.
  • Develop and manage sales funnel using CRM and market data
  • Provide accurate Monthly rolling 12-month sales and bookings forecasts for region by Customer and Product, including new opportunity tracking.
  • Arranges Pre- and Post-Sales technical and integration/application support to customer.
  • Applies technical and sales knowledge and policies in direct support to customers
  • Sets short and long-term sales strategies to expand OEM customer base, market share and business.
  • Regularly visit key customers and new prospects face to face to drive strong relationship, and develop deep understanding of customer needs and create win opportunities
  • Lead escalation management where needed
  • Actively engage in Trade Show or other channels to promote products to customers and prospects
     

Qualifications:
Requires an engineering or equivalent bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of sales experience.
• OEM component/sub-systems sales experience in advanced manufacturing and medical equipment market.

• Knowledge of Solid State lasers, Semiconductor Lasers and the laser integrated systems and electronics.
• Experience with Laser and optics components and systems.

• Experience to manage channel Partner such as distributor, system integrator.

• Knowledge of commonly-used value base selling process and tools.
• Must have executive level customer relation and communication skills.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Positive attitude, willingness to work with customers.
• Displays a high moral and business code of conduct
• Respectful of customers, peers, subordinates and supervisors.
• Ability to multi-task and be effective in a busy environment

General Tasks

  • Strict compliance with the quality, occupational safety and environmental regulations.
  • Implementation of the instructions of the quality / environmental management representative and the occupational safety specialist.

Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies

  • Engineering or Physics background or degree
  • Experience with CRM especially Sales Forces
  • “Value Base Selling” Sales Training
  • Excellent communication Skills
  • OEM account management experience
  • Ability to communicate fluently in reading, writing and talking  in English
  • TOEIC >650 points is preferred.

Travel Requirements        

  • At least 40% to 50% travel
