Brown & Brown is seeking an Account Manager to join our growing team in Carmel, IN!

The Account Manager will retain clients through servicing and management of client relationships both internally and externally. Collaborate with members of the department to deliver exceptional customer service, achieve client satisfaction, and support new business opportunities.

How You Will Contribute: 

  • Manage daily account operations for assigned groups, including eligibility, enrollment, coverage questions, claims issues, ID cards, policy changes, and benefit comparisons.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and carriers to enhance client retention.
  • Develop and manage client membership relations, ensuring effective communication and support.
  • Educate members on benefits programs, legislation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance and documentation on medical, dental, vision, FSA, COBRA, Healthcare Reform, and other benefit topics.
  • Assist with renewals by gathering claims history, census data, and carrier invoices for health and ancillary coverage.
  • Ensure compliance with internal standards and client disclosure requirements, including SPDs and employee communications.
  • Document renewals and compliance activities in the sales management database.
  • Conduct client visits and presentations, including Open Enrollment meetings and addressing service issues.
  • Support growth and collaboration through account rounding, referrals, marketing assistance, adherence to agency policies, and ongoing professional development.

 

Licenses and Certifications:  

  • Insurance Producer license in good standing (Life, Health and Accident and other authorities in states needed to service the assigned book of business). Preferred within 90 days of hire.

Skills & Experience to be Successful: 

  • College Degree in a business-related field.

  • Knowledge of employee benefit insurance coverages and contracts.

  • Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Windows environment, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher. Able to create, edit and merge letters, spreadsheets, labels, etc.

  • Proficient knowledge use of office equipment, including but not limited to copy machines, printers, faxes, binding machines, etc.

  • 2+ years' experience in the Insurance industry, Human Resources or a related field.
