Job Description

We are a global legal team supporting Contracts, Data Digital & Technology, Oncology, PDT, R&D, and Vaccines.  Each area supports clients within Takeda Globally on diverse legal matters providing the right legal support and answers for each clients legal needsThe SBUs and R&D Legal Team also supports Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within the Global General Counsel providing seminars on topics of International Women’s Day, Pride Month, Sponsorships to diverse organizations, just to name a few. 

The Legal Intern will be assisting all lawyers in the SBUs and R&D Legal team with specific projects pertaining to:   R&D, Vaccines, Oncology, Plasma Derived Therapies, Legal Contracts, Data, Digital & Technology.   Tasks may include review and editing of contracts such as SOW’s and CDA’s; review of competitor web sites, review Lexis or Westlaw for recent litigation vs competitors so we can evaluate our own processes; legal research using Westlaw; AI Research - researching any guidance documents, draft legislation, policies, etc. on artificial intelligence; clinical trial research. 

 
How You Will Contribute: 

As an SBUs and R&D Legal Intern, you will have the opportunity to… 

  • Review/Editing contracts working directly with the SBUs and R&D Legal attorney. 

  • Analyzing and summarizing potential relevant AI-Specific Terms for License Order Forms. 

  • US Telemedicines law tracking 

  • Review of statutes or common law in a specific area/jurisdiction. 

  • Review of legal landscape on digital health areas. 

Internship Development Opportunities:

  • Understanding of how to be an effective legal stakeholder in a complicated, multifaceted field. 

  • A legal intern will see the strong positive impact of Takeda’s values in the collaboration of cross-functional Business Units working tirelessly together and may experience working with the FDA on an expedited approval schedule to ensure that a new product could be made available to patients as soon as possible 

  • A legal intern will hone their skills in analyzing and negotiating complex contracts and may have the opportunity to evaluate the agreements of competing agencies to provide insight into which would be more beneficial to Takeda and its goals. 

Job Requirements: 

  • This position will be  Hybrid (1-3 days/week in office) out of the 500 Kendall St., Cambridge MA location 

  • Must be pursuing a Law Degree  and is either a current 2L or a 3L. 

  • Legal Research Skills (Westlaw or Lexis) 

  • Communication Skills 

  

Internship Eligibility 

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship  

  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2026 or later  

  • The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (May 26th-August 14th or June 15th- August 21st)   

  • The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames   

  • Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates   

  • Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

U.S. Hourly Wage Range:

$21.00 - $46.00

The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship.  The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. 

 

U.S. internship benefits vary by location and may include:
