The role will provide a broad understanding of the various roles and responsibilities within Medical Affairs. The internship will provide training activities that support company goals as well as developmental opportunities through broad-based hands-on experiences and mentorships which will integrate the interns into various medical strategic initiatives. Interns will gain experience within a focused Takeda therapeutic area through field medical teams and gain exposure to field medical excellence, focusing on leadership and career development. Upon completion, the interns will understand and be prepared for the challenges of a career in the pharmaceutical industry. The intern will be presented with a real problem for our field medical teams and will need to provide solutions for Medical Affairs that help drive medical strategy and tactics for the organization. The project will involve cross-functional collaboration, creating a strategic framework, engaging others for gaps and needs assessment, presenting to stakeholders, and additional competencies to ensure success.

Improve written and verbal communication skills to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences.
In addition, the intern, in consultation with the internship supervisor, will develop and present one structured presentation relevant to internship project and activities.
What you bring to Takeda:
Must be a graduate level student pursuing either a PharmD, PhD, MD or master’s degree in science related field. Applicants must have completed at least 1 year of their graduate program.
This role will be primarily Remote
Minimum GPA 3.0/4.0
Experience performing searches of medical and scientific literature
Excellent leadership, oral, and written communication skills, teamwork, and professionalism are required for all internship positions

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Internship Eligibility
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2026 or later
The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (May 26th-August 14th or June 15th- August 21st)
The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames
Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates
Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship. The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
