2026 - Software Engineering Intern - Internal Engineering, NYC

We’re seeking Software Engineering Interns to join our Internal Engineering team, a group that builds the tools, applications, and infrastructure that power MongoDB’s internal operations. The team partners closely with cross-functional stakeholders across the company - especially our go-to-market (GTM) and business systems teams - to improve productivity and leverage AI to make data more actionable.

Interns will work on projects that span both application development and infrastructure, contributing to systems that enhance internal decision-making and streamline workflows across departments. You’ll gain hands-on experience working with AI-driven applications, APIs, and internal tooling used by MongoDB employees every day.

What we are looking for in you

  • In the process of receiving a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Have a foundation in computer science theory, with proficiencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
  • Strong programming foundation, particularly in Python (used across most projects); familiarity with Go and React a plus.
  • Interest in AI, LLMs, and automation, especially how they can improve internal tools and systems
  • A desire to grow as a full-stack engineer and contribute to meaningful, cross-functional projects that directly impact internal teams.
  • Demonstrated ownership, communication skills, and openness to taking on new challenges in a collaborative environment.
  • Have a minimum of one quarter/semester remaining in university studies after the internship concludes. Graduation date in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. Company sponsorship may be available for eligible candidates applying for certain roles.

MongoDB internships are full-time (40 hours/week) for 10 consecutive weeks lasting from dates in June until August. All interns are considered hybrid employees, designated the "in office" working model and are expected to be in their office location 3-5 days a week.

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. Please note, the base salary range listed below and the benefits in this paragraph are only applicable to U.S.-based candidates.
