2026 Intern: Associate Scientist - Microbiology (12 weeks, June 2026 start)

Guayama JV Full time

Welcome to Haleon. We’re a purpose-driven, world-class consumer company putting everyday health in the hands of millions. In just three years since our launch, we’ve grown, evolved and are now entering an exciting new chapter – one filled with bold ambitions and enormous opportunity.

Our trusted portfolio of brands – including Sensodyne®, Panadol®, Advil®, Voltaren®, Theraflu®, Otrivin®, and Centrum® – lead in resilient and growing categories. What sets us apart is our unique blend of deep human understanding and trusted science.

Now it’s time to fully realise the full potential of our business and our people. We do this through our Win as One strategy. It puts our purpose – to deliver better everyday health with humanity – at the heart of everything we do. It unites us, inspires us, and challenges us to be better every day, driven by our agile, performance-focused culture.

A career in Microbiology where none of us stand still.

As a Microbiology Intern at Haleon’s Guayama site, you’ll be part of a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment—not a typical academic lab setting. This role combines hands-on microbiology with operational support, requiring adaptability and attention to detail to meet strict timelines. You’ll gain practical experience in microbiological testing, media preparation, and environmental monitoring while contributing to safe and efficient processes that keep production moving.

What will your individual contribution at Haleon be?

  • Prepare and maintain microbiological media and lab materials for routine testing.

  • Perform environmental monitoring and assist with microbiological sampling in production areas.

  • Support investigations and documentation related to microbiological quality standards.

  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to ensure compliance with GMP and site protocols.

  • Work in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment where flexibility and problem-solving are key.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a BS in Microbiology (Biology or Chemistry majors also considered).

  •  Must have active student status for the duration of the internship.

  • Must be eligible to work in Puerto Rico at the time of, and for the duration of, employment. Employees will be required to furnish evidence of Puerto Rico work authorization.

  • Must be fluent in both Spanish and English.

  • Must be eligible to work onsite full-time in Guayama, PR (40 hours/week) and provide their own funding for relocation and/or transportation.

Location: Guayama, Puerto Rico
