Purpose of Role:
The Portfolio Solutions team is the division at State Street that offers Agency Trading products for clients. It is part of our State Street Markets organization. It comprises of our Outsourced Trading businesses and the Currency Management team which currently services in excess $300 Billion in assets under management for approx. 90 clients globally with significant global presence. The team services a distinct group of clients, predominately the large mutual / managed fund segment.
As such, we are expanding the reach of our client and account servicing efforts and are looking for a UK intern to assist the Sales, Product Specialist, Trading and Operations teams.
The role will have a very marked operational and account servicing connotation but will also allow for ample exposure to clients, portfolio management techniques, product design and strategy design in general.

Program dates: 22nd June 2026 – 21st June 2027
You must be available to participate in the program in person, starting from day one and for its full duration and you are required to work from the office 4 days a week.
Main Responsibilities:
Servicing existing clients on a day-to-day basis, assisting with sales efforts and support, completing operational set-ups and managing ad hoc projects.
Providing day-to-day support to our global client base, addressing queries and resolving critical issues.
Interacting with operating teams including SSM Trade support, SSM Onboarding, Custody, Fund accounting and Transfer agents, both internal and external.
Interacting with management locally and globally
The role will entail some project management and coordination across multiple teams within Markets but also within the administrative arm of State Street.

Solid understanding of Fund Accounts /Custody/ Transfer agent operations
Attention to detail
Interest in developing an operational background and/or experience in this space
Coding Skills a plus
Confident self-starter who can work under pressure, using their own initiative and with the drive to work to aggressive deadlines and to see tasks through to completion
Ability to navigate multiple stakeholders across different levels of seniority
Ability to anticipate challenges and opportunities
Proficiency on Microsoft Office (inc. Excel) and other similar tools

Education
A minimum 2.1 honours degree or equivalent (predicted)
Undergraduates in the penultimate year of degree in one of the following areas: Economics, Finance, or Mathematics
To apply you must be an undergraduate who is eligible to work in the UK and able to start your placement in early June 2026 and remain in the position for 12 months. You must be intending to return to university to finish your degree after the placement.
