We are looking for a current student / placement year student to join our State Street Global Markets (SSM) team to support the Business Development team in the EMEA region. The perfect candidate is a confident self-starter with strong communication and technical skills looking for an opportunity to help support a thriving Business Development team.
This team is responsible for business development across the product suite markets, both internally and externally, to accelerate growth of the business. The Global Markets product suite is comprised of liquidity, financing and research solutions.

Program dates: 22nd June 2026 – 21st June 2027
You must be available to participate in the program in person, starting from day one and for its full duration and you are required to work from the office 4 days a week.
Responsibilities
Support the team with increasing transparency / knowledge sharing of all SSM products with the broader non- SSM sales and segment leads
Assist the team with accountability across the SSM sales organization to collaborate with the segment and sales teams inclusive on an agreed measure of success
Assist the team with tracking and monitoring client penetration and sharing of wallet to identify new opportunities to drive revenue growth
Support with promoting SSM products to firm-wide client facing personnel to effectively integrate the SSM product suite into various stages of enterprise-wide sales processes and Account Planning to drive cross-sell opportunities
Work within SSM and within Investment Services to develop and execute client account plans as well as measure the success of such efforts
Assist the team by identifying the right SSM products and contacts to meet client needs within Investor Services
Identify opportunities for Investment Services from within the SSM client base
Education & Preferred Qualifications
A minimum 2.1 honours degree or equivalent (predicted)
Undergraduate students studying a four-year course including a year in industry
Candidate should be completing an undergraduate degree in Economics, Finance, or Mathematics
Ability to work as part of a team and under own initiative as well.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a deadline driven environment.
Strong verbal, written and communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment are critical
Enthusiasm for learning and commitment to development with an understanding of existing strengths and potential barriers to success
Strong analytical and organizational skills
To apply you must be an undergraduate who is eligible to work in the UK and able to start your placement in early June 2026 and remain in the position for 12 months. You must be intending to return to university to finish your degree after the placement.
