This position supervises one or more production teams in Manufacturing Operations. Sets day-to-day operational objectives within assigned manufacturing cell(s) that support attainment of safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals. Drives Lean behaviors and routines at the cell level in alignment with the RTX CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence) operating system. Develops their team through effective coaching, communication, and training. 

What You Will Do 

  • Responsible for meeting safety, people, quality, delivery and cost targets for a cell or group of cells. Ensure practices and procedures are followed by all direct reports 
  • Achieve target performance levels through disciplined execution of the daily Lean Management System, including tiered accountability meetings, visual management systems and leader standard work 
  • Leverage basic manufacturing leadership approaches such as work scheduling, prioritization, coaching and process execution to maintain steady workflow and cell productivity 
  • Demonstrate clear focus on accountability to daily results, rapid identification of root cause and effective implementation of corrective actions 
  • Exemplify a safety first mindset by actively engaging with direct reports on safety topics and by actively engaging with EHS committees 
  • Support implementation and standardization of best practices through standard work aligned with the TWI model.  This includes, but is not limited to, job instructions, job breakdown sheets, pre and post-flight checklists, multi-cycle analysis, layered audits, and others as appropriate 
  • Collaborate with planning function to effectively run weekly MPS routines and develop a schedule that meets cell production requirements 
  • Provide day to day leadership and work direction for manufacturing team members. Primary source of input to performance review and management conversations 
  • Develop and execute a clear training plan in alignment with the needs of the manufacturing cell and business. Ensure on time completion of all training requirements assigned to direct reports 
  • Ensure timely execution of manufacturing transactions, including time approval, in Epicor ERP system to ensure data accuracy.  Work with other areas to continuously improve data integrity 

Qualifications You Must Have 

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience 

Qualifications We Prefer 

  • A University degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) 
  • Lean or six sigma certifications 
  • Manufacturing in AS9100 controlled manufacturing environments. 
  • Experience in wire harness manufacturing. Specifically, IPC/WHMA-A-620 and/or IPC J-Std-001 certifications

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
