Documentation Experience Team
The Documentation Experience Team is responsible for building the systems and foundations that improve how technical knowledge is created, structured, and delivered across Adyen’s developer ecosystem. You will work on core challenges related to content quality, consistency, scalability, and the ability to make information usable both for people and for automated systems.
In this role, you will help design and evolve the architecture that powers the next generation of Adyen’s documentation platform. This includes shaping structured content models, designing services that unify and validate information from multiple sources, and building interfaces that make technical knowledge accessible across products and tools. Your work will enable more reliable, contextual, and efficient access to information for customers, developers, and internal teams.
The team is a strategic part of the Developer Experience group within the Customer Experience solution. Our mission is to provide clear, accurate, and accessible knowledge that supports customers throughout their integration journey and helps them move quickly with confidence.
Core Focus Area
- Content Architecture: Design scalable content structures and metadata models that support consistency, reuse, and discoverability across documentation and technical knowledge.
- Knowledge Systems Design: Contribute to the design of structured knowledge representations that allow information to be connected, navigated, and used programmatically.
- Ingestion and Data Processing: Develop reliable pipelines and services that unify content from multiple sources, ensuring quality, accuracy, and readiness for downstream use.
- APIs for Knowledge Access: Build and maintain high performance APIs that make technical knowledge available across tools, products, and user interfaces.
- Quality, Instrumentation, and Continuous Improvement: Implement monitoring, instrumentation, and quality controls that improve reliability, support data informed decision making, and ensure the long term scalability of the knowledge platform.
What You’ll Do
- Architect, implement and deliver the next generation of Adyen’s documentation platform, establishing the foundation for intelligent and contextual knowledge delivery.
- Build a first-class Documentation Experience through close collaboration with engineering, technical writing, product design, and product management teams.
- Co-lead Adyen’s Documentation Experience strategy with the Team Lead and Product manager on direction and execution ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Define the technological direction of the team, propose future-proof solutions and drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships and influence stakeholders with diverse backgrounds in adjacent teams.
- Provide technical leadership, conduct thorough code reviews, mentor engineers, fostering a culture of engineering excellence and performance.
Who You Are
- You have deep expertise in (semantic & content) modeling; from modelling content meant to be published on the web managed in distributed sources (e.g. headless CMS, Git repositories).
- You have experience in building robust content ingestion pipelines. Extracting and transforming unstructured and structured content sources into knowledge graphs. Experience in Neo4j, Kafka or RabbitMQ is preferred.
- You have experience in designing, building and maintaining reliable, high performing APIs for efficient complex data retrieval. Experience in Java, PostgreSQL, REST and GraphQL is preferred.
- You have experience working with search indices (e.g. ElasticSearch) and implementing indexing strategies maximising search relevance for complex queries.
- You have an understanding of DevOps principles. Experience in Jenkins, Gitlab CI/CD and Kubernetes is preferred.
- You have a strong drive for automation and leveraging technology to improve efficiency and quality. AI usage and being hands-on with new technology is preferred.
- You’re an excellent verbal and written communicator, able to materialise strategy into technical initiatives and communicate complex technical concepts.
- You are comfortable representing technical points of view in front of internal and external technical audiences.
- You have a strategic mindset and thrive in cross-functional environments with a passion for driving customer experience impact.
Other Job Details
- We have a hybrid workplace and value in-person collaboration; this is not a remote-only role.
- Some domestic and international travel is preferred (mostly US and Europe).
